The Coffee Replacement Alternatives That Should Be Tried

By Raymond Perry

Coffee is certainly one of the most popular drinks in the world, and it can be found in nearly every home and office and restaurant. Most people have at least one a day, and some people have as many as two, three, or four cups daily. Some people drink it for energy, others for stress reducing purposes, and others give them the energy they need to get them through the day. A question many people have about this beverage include whether there are healthier coffee replacement.

Coffee is actually a relatively healthy substance which gives your body various antioxidants and good materials. You get energy and feel happier, and all these are reasons people like it. And if you were to simply drink a cup of black coffee the calorie count would be minimal. Just one cup has something like 4 calories in all, nothing a regular person really needs to take into account or add up.

Other than caffeine, there are several beverages that we can easily access. Ideally, the best alternatives you are going to get should bring you close to caffeine, in terms of taste and effects without the bad side effects of caffeine. Some come in similar colors and sensational taste and the original caffeinated beverages while others do not share similarities even in colors, however, at the end of it all, they are delicious in their own ways.

A number of alternatives are made of barley, dandelion roots, chicory, and other spices are common ingredients. They may be spiced up and sweetened with honey or prepared in different ways.

Several caffeine free beverages and coffee substitutes have been with us for ages. However, they have failed to gain any significant market traction. In the suppermarket shelves, you wake up to a new brand name and in few weeks time it is gone, replaced with another brand that will soon be gone. This only serve to indicate that we have not really benefited from the educative materials that discourages the addictive nature of caffeine products.

Spiced teas can also be used to get rid of the addiction. There are very many spices that are found in the market, giving one the liberty to pick the one they want. Here one can choose to take Roastaroma that is a combination of various spices and herbs that are blended with roasted chicory. One can also take Chai that is caffeine free which is sold in bags for one to drink.

Tea is also a popular coffee alternative. I myself find a cup of chamomile tea a soothing experience. Green tea also contains a small amount of caffeine but it is also bursting with anti-oxidants. Aside from that, drinking green tea can also help in maintaining healthy cholesterol levels, help alleviate arthritis and help in recovering from an infection.

The other common alternative is the Chicory flavored beverage. This is a root of a perennial flower. It is prepared by drying and then grinding. Only a small quantity is enough to produce the flavor easily liked by anybody who taste it.
