Questions To Ask To Book Publishing Services Companies

By Amy Thomas

Owning a book is something you can be proud of. Surely, you would want for others to read what you have created. However, you may find publishing books quite hard specially if you are new into it. Doing research is necessary to gain knowledge about the process to not get problems at the end.

Today, such companies are pooping all over the place. When you go looking for Santa Monica CA book publishing services be mindful that not all who priced cheaply means you created a bargain. Some of them do cost less but the quality of the produced books and their customer service are compromise.

For an author, having a bad quality outcome is not acceptable and it should have been done with high quality. That is why, you have to be smart to not get fooled by others. Because if this happens, redoing your work could cost you not only a lot of time but money as well, which is something to avoid from happening.

Ask what are all the fees will be. Many companies would tell you that they price lowly and would tend to mislead you. At first, you only pay less but after a long time, you will be asked to pay for an additional price. So, ask for the complete price lists directly and make sure whatever you agreed to pay is the only payment you will make.

How much does per book cost. This is an important question to ask since you are talking about how much money will you be spending and the estimated value of your profit. If you are being priced expensively for a single one, you only get to add a small amount of price meaning your profit will not be that high too.

Know what are their terms and contract. You hired and payed them so that they will help in publishing it. That means, you also have your rights. Along with that, you need to have your right to cancel your contract at anytime you wanted. This is important since some firms will keep you for three years in their contract.

You must know how long will the book production be. The usually production only takes up to ninety days when no extensive editing done. When it takes longer than that, be curious already on why is it taking so long and start questioning. You do not have to wait longer since you are paying for it.

Know if they are using templates. You all know the phrase, do not judge a book by its cover and that is truly right. People do judge the cover. Templates is not a good idea for your cover. It is something to be avoided. You want your book to be unique from the rest so as much as possible avoid templates.

Furthermore, by investigating if they already have previous complaints from clients it would be much better. With that, it is easy for you to decide if to for them or find another one. Do this by looking at their website and going through the review sections. If the review is negative, better look for someone else.
