Guidelines For Effective Executive Coaching

By Ronald Green

Every manager or director of an organization is motivated to find the opportunity to advance into a new leadership role in the future. Conversely, there are uncertainties or unknowns that call for tried solutions. Therefore, they resort to seeking additional support and outside assistance. One effect of coaching is to increase the well- being this is done through early preparation of an executive coaching note, which will guide the trainer on how to deal with the problem facing the trainee.

Taking and keeping notes help to improve continuity between sessions. It is easy to remind yourselves what was learned from the previous lecture and help to improve on the future ones. The mentor will also be able to know if the previous lecture was understood well or not. The comments will give an insight on how to handle the present and future lectures.

A good lecture note should contain concise, relevant and objective information that speaks about the organization needs. A good background check about the organization will enable the coach to note down and concentrate what is only relevant to the customer. It should be brief and clear to the point this will help avoid boredom and make the training more interactive. It should also give time allowance for questions and answers.

Note taking helps the trainer to record the interaction between the client and the coach. While training, the instructor is always maintained eye contact with the trainee to be able to read their minds and get an insight into their understanding of the subject. Building rapport during the exercise always has a great positive impact on the company.

Training will help companies to improve their human capital. As part of their training coaches may be asked to keep a diary of their work to be used during assessment. A note is used by trainers to develop self- awareness and help them identify their leadership style. Also, an organization can be able to know if they can introduce training to prospect employees.

Also, notes provide an invaluable resource to train a client over a certain period of time. Without a record of sessions, it will be difficult to trace the development of a leaner, change and achievement. This is because notes of early sessions can provide a reminder of the bigger picture and initial aim of the client.

The trainer will get to know work is undertaken and progress on their mentorship. The notes remind him or her to track the progress of their work and as well evaluate on the results, challenges encountered and lessons learned from the previous lecture and how to improve on them.

Keeping track of on the number of client sessions to date forms part of the trainer assessments. The coach can get a fee back from the clients on their understanding of the lecture sessions. The trainer will also get to know if he/ she has met their target at the stipulated time frame. The client positive change out of the training should be considered most valuable to the coach rather than the number. The appealing feedback from customers helps the instructor on how to improve on the next session. Therefore, the coaching note helps keep records of there of their clients up to date.
