Vacuum the surfaces and floor to remove all the debris and dust. The whole areas must be vacuumed to suck out the generated dust from polishing. Get all the visible debris as much as possible. Vacuum the area near baseboards and corners.

If there is no vacuum to use, you can still sweep all the dust with brooms and dustpan. The most vital part is to remove the visible debris and dirt that is on the surface. Make sure that nothing will remain once you are done sweeping the entire surface.
