Keep an eye on sudden changes in the dog behavior such as active aggressively, acting lethargic or eating lesser than before. Take them right away to a vet if you found something wrong with the pet before it becomes severe.

Make sure that the nails are trimmed every two to three months to avoid overgrowth or breakage. Keep an eye on the dog if they bite their nails. That means it has to be trim. Males that have been spayed or neutered will have a low risk of getting uterine or prostate cancers. This can also give them a longer lifespan.

Choose foods that are nutritious. Yorkies do not require lots of foods if they become adults already and inactive. They can be fed at least once or twice a day. Give them a clean access to water. Give them a water bowl where they can drink water whenever they need it.
